Ah, geez. You know, I often get the roll of the eyes when I mention my blog out side of cyberspace. And what follows is one of two questions: What is a blog? or Why do you blog? When I'm on the spot, it's because I'm a geek and I know how. But when I get a chance to think about it and write it out. . . Frank Ahrens of the Washington Post wrote an article asking the same question. And I responded:
"I blog. . .
. . .because it makes me believe that somewhere someone paused for a minute, read what I wrote, felt some sort of emotion and cared. Can it be proven? That someone somewhere cared? Nah, but I am hopeful. When I read other blogs I do honestly pause, if only for a moment, and care.

I blog because bloggers have something to prove. To each other. I am waiting on someone to call me out and challenge my facts, or lack of. The people here at 'home', here in 'reality', could care less about my ability to debate and manipulate. But my blogger buddies, now thats a crowd I dig. They want to push my buttons, and really, I want my buttons pushed. Not only am I getting attention out of it, but the incredible thing is that when I am challenged, when I am called out on the carpet for my opinions, I get to know myself a little better. I get to question myself. I get to evolve my mind.

I also blog because I have blog stalkers. If you want to hear about that, ask. I have proof going back months at a time. It is also because of my stalkers I have lost touch with alot of my blogger buddies. I don't allow people to link me, if I can help it, which has greatly killed my audience. It's shadow blogging at best. One day though, I will find a way to become so huge that my stalkers will run for fear of being found out. And that situation too is ok because its developing my ability to be sneaky and making me more aware of what I say when I say it.

My archives are missing for a reason. They are rather interesting. . . I might put them back out there again."

And now you know. Stop by for a link to the article and other stuff of this sort!
