Virginia blogger arrested for harrassing police

Elisha Strom’s most recent blog post simply reads “Uh oh. They’re here.” One can assume that by “they,” she means the police. She was arrested recently in Charlottesville for allegedly repeatedly harassing local police officers on her blog.

In a nearly year-long barrage of blog posts, she published snapshots she took in public of many or most of the task force’s officers; detailed their comings and goings by following them in her car; mused about their habits and looks; hinted that she may have had a personal relationship with one of them; and, in one instance, reported that she had tipped off a local newspaper about their movements.

Reading through some of her posts, it becomes immediately obvious that this woman is off her rocker. She’s a blatant racist (” Since choosing the shade, I have yet to make it past a Black girl without hearing I luuuuuhhvv yo’ hair color.”) and her cataloging of local law enforcement — including black and white photographs of them — is bizarrely creepy.

But as the Washington Post piece points out, all the information she uses on the blog is publicly available information. Could it be that her only crime is that she annoyed a bunch of cops?
