The rise of the Australian porn industry
This article has a cool behind-the-scenes look at the Australian porn industry, which evidently has been struggling up until now. A woman named Maxine Fensom thinks she can spark world-wide interest and has been flying in US filmmakers to help with her films.
If you ask me I think that the surge in business for Sydney film studios followed by a drought of business was done intentionally to put people into a position where they would have not much choice but to go into pornography. Why would the powers that be want to do this? Because they want to tap into Australia’s white porn talent in an effort to compete with the Africans in the USA.
I think it would be great to see some home grown talent. Fostering a clean healthy porn film industry in Australia would help the economy and peoples negative attitudes towards sex. Further more I think by promoting the adult film industry in Australia it would give an added synergy to the rest of the film industry in Australia.
Not sure where the opinion comes from that the Australian porn industry has been struggling but it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve been filming in Australia for years and promoting good quality and unique Aussie products like Gold Coast Girls
There was never any reason for Aussie girls and guys, straight or gay, to go mainstream porn, let alone watch it. When I lived in Sydney 40 years ago we all had a great sex-life, no need for films when we had the real thing!
The main problem is finding somewhere to go to be alone, why many were forced to find a porn-cinema to sneek into. England was terrible back then, every bush in the parks was occupied and the coppers made extra money by arresting lovers and putting their hand out, threatening to tell the parents – know that you were basically forced to get married if you got caught at it, and the family carried the shame of it forever. No such problems in Oz, just jump in the ute and head bush or one of the myraid of deserted beaches, and cavort naked all weekend, alone with your mate or in a group, nobody cared, nobody knew. Even the Catholic girls, and the odd Muslim ones (not many back then) were at it like rabbits, though they had to use the tradesman entrance.
The only people who watched porn were the ruling-elite, who frequented the myraid of private clubs and brothals in the major cities. I lived in Redfern, Sydney, in the next street to a series of membership-only brothals, and the police kept a discrete watch on the place as many top people used the services, politicians, businessmen, even a top policemen! They were there to keep the press away. I knew the ‘Momma’ running the poshest brothal and often had breakfast with her and her girls. She wanted me to be her star stud in the sex-shows! I look everywhere but i have never seen audition adverts, or anything remotely like a recruitment center or website, id be interested in joing the Aussie porn scene, alot of untapped potential
