Larry the Cable Guy is a fraud

I’ve always had a sneaking suspicion about Larry the Cable Guy — that he wasn’t the southern redneck he pretended to be. I mean, I always knew he grew up in the north, but there are groups within the north who speak in redneck vernacular — but his accent was so over-the-top I couldn’t believe it was real.

Well, I just came across this video footage today of his old stand-up days. Guess what you easily-duped right-wing, uneducated rednecks? He’s a fraud! It proves once and for all that all you have to do to be a successful redneck comedian is to speak like an uneducated monkey and sacrifice all your self-respect and basically mock other rednecks:

I didn’t know he was a fraud, but if you think about it, it makes sense. The guy is a mockery of himself. And who wants to believe someone is actually that stupid? You can’t be a comedian making fun of how stupid you are and actually being that stupid.

I’d say it was a good marketing tactic, although if he is funny in real life, he lost chance of me ever watching him once he started saying “GetRDone.”

Anyone who actually thought that the Cable guy was a real person should take himself out of the gene pool. It’s a character, morons!!! It’s actually pretty funny, so enjoy it, and realize that he is spoofing southern Americans. DUH!!!
