I have that popular "blog worth" gadget on my page, too. I never was quite sure how it was calculated and felt it was exaggerated. But I keep it there anyway. (Laugh.)

Hm, $4000. More than I was expecting. Looking back now, I wish I had started a niche blog rather than a personal (i.e. multi-subject) blog. Oh well, that it makes any money is an accomplishment as far as I'm concerned. I never expected to live off of a personal blog anyway. ;)

Really cool post! I am looking forward to seeing how this whole evaluating blogs based strictly on links works out. I guess you could assume (I hate to do so though) that the better the content the more links any given blog has. Still... that seems like a tough call when there are multiple streams of revenue.

Ah well, I blog for the fun of it not the $.... lucky me!

No, I don't think it would, Netwalker. By regional/city/location-oriented, I mean that the blog has to do with a specific location. For instance, Gothamist is a blog that focuses only on the New York area. Unless your blog only focuses on a specific Spanish-speaking region, I don't see why you would want to combine the two.

Hi

I liked this new form of valuating a blog value, I think is more accurate.

I have a question, I have a blog dedicated to digital photography, so I supose it goes in the category of gadget/technology, but it is in spanish, so I think it goes in the regional/city/location-oriented blog, right? The value would be an average of both?

Hi Simon,

Thanks for dropping me a line with a link to the site. I worked out my blog's worth and had a little cry when I realised it wasn't enough for a meal out :(

Great idea, though.

Cheers,
