Curiosity and all... I couldn't help looking back to when Harriet posted her first review, and did some calculations. She has averaged more than 5 reviews per day since she started. Assuming that she actually does sometimes spend time with real live people, go to the movies, visit the doctor, or do anything other than read... well okay, even NOT assuming that, I can't believe she honestly has read that many books. I might buy the idea that, say, a mother-and-daughter team could put out that many reviews under one name for whatever reason they might have, except for the fact that her voice & style seem pretty identifiable, so that seems unlikely.

I think they're trying to postpone the moment of truth as much as possible, while starting a conversation, on the contrary, will surely hasten the demise. Meanwhile, they will dump more of them 'reviews' into the world. If there is a real person called Harriet Klausner, she must be kidnapped and locked in a basement somewhere, while hordes of jacket-copy writers dump their oeuvre under the 'famed' name.

Roh, I tried to contact Klausner when I was researching this article. She didn't respond. Neither did the people who were closely associated with her (people who ran the websites that posted her reviews). Weird, huh?

I realise this is probably a stupid question, but does Ms. Klausner *know* she's a hot topic of, er, debate? Or does she read-and-review so much she has no time to note anything else? I just wonder...

Let me attempt to make a prediction: G.Bowman will not be willing to substantiate s/his claims. I'll check back tomorrow to see if I was wrong.

Mr. Bowman, could you tell me which of Harriet Klausner's more than 14,000 reviews this conversation took place on, I do not remember this event. I have probably commented on more of Harriet Klausner's reviews than any other person at Amazon so I assume you're pointing your finger at me. Would you tell me when or where these comments were posted?
