Evolution Sunday: I’m not impressed
Like PZ, I’m not impressed with Evolution Sunday. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s the day when Christianity and science pretend they agree with each other. Religious leaders go around saying that evolution doesn’t contradict Christian teachings, despite the fact that it does.
Over at Daily Kos, you can see them falling over themselves in admiration.
I’m sorry, but I just can’t get that excited about religious leaders giving their congregations permission to believe in evolution by simply playing intellectual dodgeball with biblical quotes and pretending half of the bible is “metaphor.” You want your congregation to think for themselves? Give up seeking guidance from an imaginary being and allow them to have true intellectual thought.
