Simon, I’m going to have to question the conclusion. The number of unique visitors to Digg has less impact on my hit counter than the type of visitors. Reddit seems to have an awful lot of the “tastemakers” out there — it’s been by observation that a big hit on Reddit politics gets you viral exposure on Digg, Fark, and a half-dozen other sites, while getting dugg doesn’t guarantee a lot of crossover linkage.
