“Ariana Huffington is my God … and I bow down to her”

Yes, it’s said tongue in cheek, but one does have to wonder when you’ve paid $13,000 to secure an internship at the Huffington Post. Gawker caught up to a girl named Luisa who bid for the position in a charity auction the other week.

But seriously, The Huffington Post is a good place to be seen and is a good place to start a writing career. And after all, charity is good! I don’t know why you’re so against it on your website. Perhaps you’re forgetting the charity aspect.

The “good place to be seen” argument has been made by thousands of ezine editors that pay in “free promotion,” which often amounts to nothing. Still, the Huffington Post profile is higher than most, but it often depends whether the editors are willing to give your posts front page treatment. There are thousands of bloggers for Huffington Post, and so many of their daily posts are but blips upon the coveted front page. Would the internship status guarantee good placement for her work?
