The New York Times has a fascinating first-person account of Damien and Diana Oliva Cave, two NYT journalists that were both covering the Iraq war at the same time. On multiple ocaisions, Damien found himself in dangerous situations and would have to send text messages to his nearby wife to let her know he was ok.
