A message for conservatives. Re: “Fairness Doctrine”
Shut the fuck up with your blathering on about the “fairness doctrine.” Barely anyone is pushing for it. Quit acting like this is some kind of liberal issue, it isn’t. A small minority of Democrats in Congress are pushing for it, it’ll never pass, and virtually nobody from the “liberal media” supports it. This is just like when conservative talk radio hosts spent weeks spotlighting “liberals” who wanted to create a tax on toilet paper. Gee, you wonder why most journalists regard talk radio as bottom-feeding journalism.
Unfortunately many on the left are pushing to revive the fairness doctrine but it looks like you get it. Thankfully, the House voted 309-115 last week to prohibit the FCC from implementing it. It just doesn’t make sense in today’s media market place.
